Ultra Sierra Nevada

Ultra Sierra Nevada

Five distances across Sierra Nevada in one April weekend.

Ultra Sierra Nevada is the mountain race that Terra Incognita organises between Granada and Sierra Nevada. The Ultra leaves the Paseo del Salón at ten on Friday night, crosses the Pico Veleta at 3,100 metres and finishes in the square at Pradollano. Around it there are four more races, Trail, Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay, and with them, runners who need to know their bib collection time, their compulsory kit and their cut-off times. All of that information lived on Wix. At Hüan we moved it to WordPress and rebuilt the whole site: the structure, the page for each race, the registration page and the shop.

The brief

Ultra Sierra Nevada brings together five races over three days in April: Ultra, Trail, Marathon, Half Marathon and Ultra Relay. Each one needs its route, its bib collection times, its aid stations and its list of compulsory kit. On top of that come registrations with deadlines, refunds and cancellation insurance, a shop, sponsors and news. All of that lived on Wix and the organisers asked us to rebuild it from scratch. We migrated the site to WordPress and redesigned it from top to bottom. The aim was for every piece of information to have its place and for the organisers to keep it up to date without rebuilding anything.

The system

We designed the site in white with red, blue, black and green. The red goes on the dates strip that runs across the header. Blue and black alternate in the tables and green marks the download button. Headlines are set in Roboto Condensed italic capitals and body text in Roboto. Each race has its own page with tabs: description, route, bibs, aid stations, programme, kit and transport. The track can be downloaded as a GPX or via a QR code, and each bib collection time can be added to the calendar. The home page opens with a countdown and the five races as cards, and continues with news, gallery, shop and Expo Trail.

Registration and shop

Registration is the most delicate part of a race and we gave it a page of its own. There you can see the fees for each race by registration period and the refund rules. We also explain the cancellation insurance and changes of name or race. From that page the participant goes through to their own area to review and change their registration. We also set up a shop with T-shirts for the different races and a hoodie. The Ultra Kit section gathers the partners' equipment: trail clothing and shoes, head torches and nutrition. Everything runs on WordPress with Elementor and WooCommerce, in Spanish and English, and the organisers edit it without touching code.

In use

The site is still live and already announces the 2027 edition with a countdown and open registration. The organisers publish news and have uploaded the official 2026 track and the 2027 fees. On their race page the participant finds the cut-off times, the aid stations and the compulsory kit. They also check the return shuttles there and the weather forecast at the start and the finish. We delivered the complete site migrated from Wix, with design, development and UX/UI by Hüan. More than a year on it still stands with the structure and race pages we designed.
