La Huella Studio

The production company that gets the call when a shoot comes in from out of town.

La Huella Studio is an audiovisual production company based in Seville. It shoots commercials, branded content and events, and handles post-production with VFX and colour grading. Its other line of business is local service: when a Spanish or international production comes to shoot here, it brings together crew, permits and logistics at each destination under a single production lead and a single point of contact. Its footer lists Seville, Málaga, Madrid, Valencia, the Balearic Islands, London and Dubai, and among the brands it has worked for are Iberia, McCann and the city councils of Seville and Málaga. We designed and built its website in WordPress, in Spanish and English, with the showreel playing full screen and a caching and CDN layer that serves all that video without the weight ever showing.

The brief

A production company sells itself with its showreel, and La Huella had footage of its own to show. The challenge was serving it well: full-screen video, one card per service and visits from productions arriving from abroad. The brief was a website that opened with moving image and organised its four lines of work. It had to work in Spanish and English, because the studio also operates in Madrid, the Balearic Islands and the United Kingdom. And it had to load fast, without the weight of the video showing as you browse.

Full screen

We chose a black background and the sans serif Inter in white so that the only colour on the site is the colour of the images. The navigation bar floats over the video as a rounded pill. It carries the La Huella logo in white, the ES/EN switch and a hamburger menu. The buttons are pills and the service cards have matching rounded corners. On the home page the showreel fills the whole screen. The links to Services, About us and Contact stay at the bottom, within reach of the thumb. A round button with an arrow, bottom right, takes you back to the top from anywhere on the page.

Horizontal scroll

The services are browsed sideways, card by card. There are four: Commercials, Events, Local Service & Rental and VFX, Color & Post. Each carries a full-bleed image and a label with its scope. Below, a short text with the key points highlighted and the View projects button. A row of pills jumps to the other services without going back to the start. Then "The formula" explains how the studio runs each production. Next comes the "Activate your project with us" block, whose Join button leads to the form. The "Collaborating with" strip closes the page: brands and institutions they have worked for. Among them, Iberia, McCann and the city councils of Seville and Málaga.

Under the bonnet

We built the site in WordPress, in Spanish and English, so the studio can edit copy and pieces from the CMS. For the video we set up a bespoke performance layer: our own cache on the server with a CDN in front. That way the showreel and the frames are served from a point close to the visitor without sacrificing speed. On mobile the showreel stays full screen and the navigation bar keeps its place. The site lives at lahuellastudio.com, with a contact form and phone numbers for Spain and the United Kingdom. The footer lists Seville, Málaga, Madrid, Valencia, the Balearic Islands, London and Dubai.
